DNNGlobalStorage expands your DotNetNuke 6 storage options beyond your Web Server, enabling a 100% integrated way to have your files wherever you want. Right now it may be hooked to Amazon and DropBox. In next releases there will be added support for Rackspace CoudFiles, Windows Azure, Google Storage, or an FTP location.

PowerCache is specifically optimized for performance in large webfarms running DotNetNuke Professional Edition, however any load-balanced DotNetNuke application can benefit greatly from this product.

The most challenging of these problems involves handling distributed caching. Starting in July of 2011, we will begin making the next round of investments in our cloud infrastructure to bring ALL our customers into the cloud environment. Using the same underlying technology that empowers Windows Azure, we will begin a massive Cloud conversion on our infrastructure.
What do you need to do?
IF YOU ARE A CLOUD HOSTING OR CLOUD SERVER CUSTOMER:
If you are already on a PowerDNN cloud, you don’t need to do a thing. You’re already on our latest and greatest platform!
IF YOU ARE A SHARED HOSTING CUSTOMER:
If you are a shared hosting customer, you do not need to do anything either. We will gradually be converting our few remaining physical servers over to cloud servers.
IF YOU ARE A LEGACY SERVER CUSTOMER:
If you are on a legacy server we will be contacting you to schedule your conversion. You do not need to worry about anything until our team contacts you to schedule the upgrade. Once we have you scheduled, we will handle the entire upgrade process. We will start our conversion in July and it will take a few months to accomplish, however, we will not do anything without first coordinating with you.
If you prefer not to upgrade to the cloud server environment, additional charges may apply to cover the costs of maintaining legacy servers.

Last week several of us from PowerDNN has the privilege of attending the CMSX (the Content Management System Expo) in Chicago, Illinois. Unlike many of the other conferences that we attend, CMSX was especially unique in the fact that there are other many other CMS’ represented in addition to DotNetNuke.
One morning the founders of each platform spoke about their project, including DotNetNuke’s very own: Shaun Walker. He summarized the three key roadmap elements to follow the DotNetNuke 6.x release in the re-definition of the term “CMS”: Cloud, Mobile, and Social. I really liked that comment as it boiled down a plethora of sessions, conferences, and roundtable discussions to the three most pertinent things on the table for DotNetNuke right now.
Cloud: DotNetNuke has really embraced the “Cloud” in the past year. Through components such as Azure Connectors, DotNetNuke can leverage highly scalable, redundant, storage systems.
Mobile: This is a growth area for DotNetNuke. I was excited to hear Shaun talk about the fact that Mobile accessibility is on the horizon for what DotNetNuke is going to be working on. According to one of the speakers, 2011 will be the year that mobile website access eclipses traditional laptops and PCs. This means that websites will need to be Mobile capable, as people will use their phones synonymously with laptops.
Social: Currently, DotNetNuke is beginning to enter this market by providing modules for Events, Blogs, Forums, etc. Going forward, DotNetNuke will be emphasizing this capability and Shaun Walker even demonstrated a collection of social Razor scripts that are available with DNN 5.6.2. Currently WordPress and Facebook are thought of as the social marketing platforms, however, DotNetNuke’s acquisition of ActiveModules (and the ActiveSocial platform) will help emphasize these features in one of the upcoming releases of DotNetNuke.
