Host my email with someone besides PowerDNN
ISSUE:
Sometimes when you're hosting your website, you may want to use one provider for your website, and another provider for your EMAIL.
RESOLUTION
If PowerDNN is hosting your DNS:
1) In DotNetNuke > Host > Host Settings, change your SMTP server to be Relay.PowerDNN.com
2) In the control panel, go to System > [Domain] > DNS and change the MAIL.[DOMAIN] or the MX record to the settings that your email provider has instructed you to use.
If PowerDNN is not hosting your DNS:
1) In DotNetNuke > Host > Host Settings, change your SMTP server to be Relay.PowerDNN.com
2) Make sure that the www.[DOMAIN] and the @.[DOMAIN] records are pointing to the IP address of your website on PowerDNN. You can get your IP by following these instructions.
3) Make sure that your MX records are configured the way your email provider needs them. You will need to contact the company providing your email services in order to get this information.
If you are not using PowerDNN's email services, you will need to contact your email provider on any and all related email questions.
